Ok so I am going to be building my very 1st computer I know little about hardware but more about software. My friend has build his own computers and will be helping me with the hardware build.

I have been doing some research and after doing so I have a cap limit of $2,000 to build my own PC.

Specks:

- Intel Core i7-3930K 3.2 1 LGA 2011 Processor - BX80619I73930K

- ASUS P9X79 DELUXE - LGA2011 - X79 - 8x DIMM - PCIe 3.0 Motherboards

- 2 of EVGA GeForce GTX 580 1536 MB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 2DVI/Mini HDMI SLI Ready Graphics Card, 015-P3-1580-TR

- CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX750 V2 750W ATX 12V 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC High Performance Power Supply - CMPSU-750TXV2

- Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooler (RR-212E-20PK-R2)

- Corsair XMS3 16GB (4x 4GB) PC3-10666 1333MHz DDR3 Memory Kit for AMD and Intel Dual Channel Processors CMX16GX3M4A1333C9

- Western Digital Caviar Black 1 TB SATA III 7200 RPM 64 MB Cache Internal Desktop Hard Drive Bulk/OEM - WD1002FAEX

- Asus Black 12X BD-ROM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-ROM SATA Internal Blu-Ray Drive (BC-12B1ST)

- AND my already bought: NZXT Crafted Series ATX Full Tower Steel Chassis - Phantom Black

(This list has been edited!!! changes have been completed, parts have been ordered.) Thanks for helping out!!!

A little about the uses of this computer.

- I am a web producer and a graphic designer always spend time on the computer and with graphics, so the Graphics Card is KEY, also the processor must kick ass. I do a little motion graphics and so need a very fast machine to render my films.

- Also a huge Gamer so the set up i have here I hope will be sufficient enough for me.

Please let me know if these component will work and function with each other.

I might be updating this list later on as I do more research.

Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

16GB of RAM...I got 8GB and for fun I started three games + the other processers = Took 5GB of ram.So what I want to tell is that you will never be able to use that high kind of amout of ram, unless you have programs like Sony Vegas and doing some editing and surfing on the web at the same time.Anyways, as far as I can see. Your computer specs is good to go!

I chose the 16GB of RAM for the purpose of Movie Editing and Motion Graphics. But if you guys think that is overwelming then I can downgrade. I just dont want to sit here waiting for the Movie im working on to render all night. Thanks for the feed back!

There's absolutely no need for 850w of power. 650w is MORE than enough.

Like Dragospaul said; 850w is totally unnecessary. Just a waste of electricity. Go for 500-650w.

Doesn't the LGA 2011 socket support quad-channel memory? If it does, go for 16GB quad channel @ 1600+Mhz and lowest possible timings.+1 on the 680, maybe a stronger power supply if you plan on running SLI in the future.

Nice ok I will look at a lower Power suply I wasnt sure what I should get it seemed like a lot of powerful equipment here thought I would need a lot of juice but I will look into lower watage. Thanks for the tip. how about this one: - Cooler Master GX Series 650W ATX 12V V2.31 80 PLUS SLI Ready Power Supply RS650-ACAAE3-US

I'd just run an SLI since you have more than enough room and the budget

What would be better in my set up: My current selection: - Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 3GB DDR5 HDMI/DVI-I/Dual Mini DP PCI-Express Graphics Card 21197-00-40G or - EVGA GeForce GTX 680 2048MB GDDR5, DVI, DVI-D, HDMI, DisplayPort, 4-way SLI Ready Graphics Card Graphics Cards 02G-P4-2680-KR

I would go for the GTX 680 just because what reviews say, but I've never actually owned them. They're both amazing cards but one is just a little better than the other and it looks like the 680 is that card

GPU x2 - http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814130587 CPU - http://www.newegg.co...N82E16819116492 mobo - http://www.newegg.co...N82E16813131799 RAM - http://www.newegg.co...N82E16820233203 HD - http://www.newegg.co...N82E16822136533 PSU - http://www.newegg.co...N82E16817139021 CPU FAN - http://www.newegg.co...N82E16835103099 total - $2,156.92 Only 156$ off, but considering 680's are pretty hard to get right now, and if you put two 580's together they're going to blow the 680 out of the water anyways. So i think it's worth it in that regard. * Also downgraded to 1TB HD, you can always buy an external to store all your files, (your gfx shit and what not)

Oh hey hey hey~! I didn't even think of this! We can combine the GPU of 580 and this will be better then the 680. Good idea. Also I agree on the Hard Drive 2 TB is massive I have plenty of external Hard Drives to store my Data. Considering the Equipment the Price will be well worth it. I can always upgrade in the future but wont have to for a LONG time.
